@lcamtuf@infosec.exchange I thought we agreed not to talk about the torment nexus because it might give them ideas.
@stefano@littleone.littlefedi.social I just want you to know that I love #LittleFedi and I'm eagerly awaiting the next release! 🥳
Can someone please do some emoji reactions to this post, I'd like to see how they appear in #LittleFedi. 😀
Something I really like about #LittleFedi is the catch-up feature. It provides a selection of posts according to some weightings without it leaking into your main timeline. I used to love the firehose of information that Twitter provided, and this really scratches the same itch.
@Bot4Sale@fairdinkum.one @sisterratched@vivaldi.net I think part of the baggage the greens have is just how politically naive they have been in the past. I'm still salty about deals they made with John Howard back in the day and the fuckery around the carbon tax under Kevin Rudd.
@sisterratched@vivaldi.net US road rage killer's sentence quashed because AI video of victim was shown in court

"At the time of the sentencing, the judge who oversaw the case, Todd Lang, seemed to appreciate the use of AI.
"I loved that AI, thank you for that. As angry as you are, as justifiably angry as the family is, I heard the forgiveness," Judge Lang said. "I feel that that was genuine.""
Between the children representing themselves and whatever this shit is, what on earth is happening in US courts? #uspol

I want to bring #webrings back. I miss the more connected internet where my very queer blog was somehow connected to a Sydney Christian boy and a woman who knitted in South Australia. Does anyone know any open source webring projects?
I've been delaying a dental appointment, as I suspect have many others have, judging by the stream of friendly SMS reminders to come in and have my crown finished. Could we not tax the super-profits instead?
It will sound repetitive, but while what #AmyRemeikis writes here has been written before it doesn’t mean its superfluous because it hasn’t penetrated the electorate’s collective minds deep enough to make change happen, hence it needs to be said, again and again.
The #EconomicRationalists on the #RBA board spruking their madcap #NeoLiberal mantras are a bunch of absolute *Cultists* , unswayed in their *Monetary Crusade* to impose **austerity** on innocent *punters* come what may.
The RBA #CashRate hike is the predictable act of an economist wedded to a debunked economic system and incapable of understanding how a *Society* behaves beyond their simplistic *economic behaviour* theory, inthralled by their blind faith in the *Markets* self-balancing powers. All of this was debunked decades ago of course.
“Domestic data does not support the decision to raise interest rates. Being wrong in the right company (the market and conservative economists) might make for easier dinner parties and congratulatory op-eds in the financial pages, but it does nothing to look after the welfare – economic and otherwise – of the Australian people.
The RBA board would refute that of course, and trot out the same arguments that the pain is necessary to stop worse down the road. Which would be true, of course, if individual households had any control over the spending that is driving inflation”
Meanwhile, the independence of the RBA board, its decisions and its set inflation range make govt intervention in the markets all the more difficult if not impossible. The economic system is rigged and not to our greater social benefit.
I made nachos for dinner and found a tin of tomatoes at the back of the cupboard that hissed when I opened them. No botulism for me today thank you!
@sisterratched@vivaldi.net A new type of server, think WordPerfect being replaced by Word or GoogleDocs. I was on Akkoma, which I loved, but I'm self-hosting this on an old box in my lounge room, which is frankly amazing.
Since I'm on a brand new instance (#littlefedi) it's probably appropriate to do a reintroduction!
